i assume this is the same as a PFL, but I can only find TB's 'How to' for a front door. I haven't looked at it yet, but are there any traps for the unwary, or any tips for the ignorant? :y

Easier than front.
Pop the orange insert from lock pin.
4 screws, 2 at front, 2 at rear.
Can't remember if there is a screw behind handle - but you'll quickly find out.
If removing the moisture membrane, the 4 plastic mounting holes have to come out - prise out their centre, then the whole thing pulls out of door.
Fancy taking pics, and writing a guide when you do yours?
Why you taking it off?

Thanks Jaime, I have a problem with the window which will go down but not up, so I need to check that the mechanism is OK. I'll try to get some pics and do a How to. :y

If you can hear the motor, its the mech. Get a replacement first, save doing the job twice. The plastic bit that connects cable to bottom of window has broken.
Can't remember if the mechs are different left to right.
Drill out the 5 rivets, and use pop rivets on refit.

Mech = Mechanism perhaps?
Yes, sorry :-[
Rear window mechanism consists of the motor, a bar with a plastic slider (that breaks), and a cable to move it.

Well, apologies for the delay, but at last I can use the garage now daughter's MG has gone, Hooray.
Now I have got access to the window mechanism, I have discovered the problem. The motor works well, the only issue is that the spring like retaining device on the 'UP' end of the cable, has come out of its retaining fork, and either as a result or cause of this, the cable is crossed and jams around the operating pulley, probably damaging the pulley guide channels.
Best bet is to replace the whole assembly, GM part number stamped on the frame is 90520250, which I can get from here http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/omegaspareparts?_trksid=p2047675.l2559 on the Bay for £15.00. Sounds a fair price, has anyone dealt with them?
