Whats the best (cheapish) code reader to get?

Depends what you cal cheapish.

About £400 is the starting price for one thats compatible with a 2.5.  Paperclips are much cheaper.

I bought a Sealy VS8700 some years ago for £50, it's been excellent on both my car and my daughter's Golf.  I expect you can much better ones now for less money than I paid.

Think that model is OBDII, so no use on OPs car ;)

Paper clip cheapest on 2.5 TBH :y
