................. from damaged / badly worn dvd's or cd's
Is there a piece of software out there that will help me retreve data from various discs that have been sat in rack for 10 to 15 years.
These discs have photographs on which vary from a few kbits upto 4 or 5 megabites.
All the discs have been cleaned to the best of my ability but refuse to boot from the drive.
I except that I won't be able to retreve data off the physically damaged sectors :(

Some drives work better at reading discs than others do, possibly try another drive.
As far as data recovery goes, you really want a drive that can read in RAW mode.

If they are scratched try using some car scratch polish sorted out the mario kart cd for the wii :y

My lappy is a toshiba satellite p200 1fc
Will the dvd drive read in RAW ?
If so, how :-[

More than likely a MatSHITa drive (yes, that really is the manufacturer name), so no.
Google for copying Xbox 360/Wii games, and any drive they recommend for that will read in RAW mode.

Tıgger lappy drivers are bad candidates for those operations.. I recommend trying this in a pc with a good quality drive.. and several other softwares..

The lads got a old desktop upstairs with a dvd drive.
I'll have a play tomorrow
