Title: Roof carrying limit and the law
Post by: Gaffers on 02 May 2008, 22:18:23
Hi peeps,

Looking at moving an 11ft dinghy later this month and I was wondering what the laws are concerning roof loads, weights, sizes etc.  Anyone got any ideas?

The permissable roof load is 100kg. The roof load consists of the weight of the roof rack plus the load carried.

That is what it says in the Mini Facelift Manual :y

Cool, if it overhangs above the windowscreen and over the boot is that a problem?

If the weight is OK and it won't hang over that much you should be OK think of the number of people who carry ladders. You could always hang a rag on the back. :)
