Title: 2 button flip keys.
Post by: worzelof10acrefield on 01 January 2013, 20:04:29
Hi all.
Just a query really.
On Ebay there are the 2 button flip keys for a reasonable amount but does it have to be that main dealer to cut the keys or do you think the street key cutters can do it.
Any one had experience with these?
Thanks.
Jay

Any high street locksmith with a laser cutter can do it, but do ask first if they are happy attempting it and the cost! The locksmith I went to didn't remove the blade from the flip fob and it slipped during cutting which buggered one side of the blade. He also said the cost was £12 PER SIDE normally  :o, but charged me nothing on that occassion  :P

Thanks for the info..
Will check first.
Would be much better for the pocket to hide the blade....

Thanks again.

My local cobbler is happy to cut Omega keys for around £3.

You need to use your existing transponder and fob electronics.

I would add, all the aftermarket flip keys I have seen have been *very* poor, and I doubt would last more than a few months at most.

If your tall, there's a good chance of breaking a flip key off with your knee.
