I saw this pair of talentless little shits on the box recently. Would a return to the days of National Service help sort them out?
Just a thought. ;D

The trouble is Opti they are Irish, born in the Republic in Dublin, so I doubt if they would ever join any British National Service! ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

Just why should the modern Professionals, who belong to the Armed Forces, and carry out highly skilled and often dangerous work, have to waste their time be diverted from their primary tasks in order to do what any decent parent should have done in the first place ??
And that view does not just extend to "Jedward".. it extends to every call for "National Service" ... the Armed Forces of today are not a drain into which should be poured the dregs of society ... hows about putting the blame, and solution in the right place ?? with the parents ??

Does anyone here at OOF have experience of National Service?
Apparently, it finished in 1960. So it's a long shot.
-
Round them up put em in a field and bomb the Barstewards.
I feel that we should start a list of wasters so lets see who we get ?? feel free to add fellow Oofers :y :y

I would be happy to pay a £1 a shot to a nominated charity to use them as target practice. :y :y

Being born in 1950 I grew up with a real fear of conscription, fortunately it ended before I became old enough, my slightly older French brother in law was not so lucky and he hated it.

Totally agree with you. You end up with too many officers and NCOs training large numbers of people that don't want to be there and can't wait to get out, when they should be training volunteers, so you have modern professional armed forces. Ours would not be the top professionals that they are, if we had conscription.
Now using the dregs of society as mine and IED sweepers in Afghanistan would be a far easier more practical thing to do. :y :y :y

Jedward, National Service - no, bring back hanging ;)
-
:y Love to see it Opti, and they could take lots more with them too to solve the lack of work and boredom problems many seem to have.
Europe has it, why not the UK?

I missed National Service by a matter of weeks, something to do with the cut off date, at the time I felt pretty relieved, if you remember it was mainly National Service lads who were facing the brunt of alot of troubles that were still going on in the late 50`s / early `60`s.

Although I also agree they are completely devoid of any noticeable talent, least they made some effort. Far too many these days cannot be bothered to do anything, just expect everything on a plate
