Signing a petition will do nothing at all to the price of petrol the goverment does what they want when they want no matter what we do as the country just lies down and takes it up the ar*e. We wonder why people want to move out of this country well not any more its obvious its a joke, and we have a pop at the French, do you think they would lie down and take this? not a chance they would grind there country to a halt to get what they want. Rant over sorry

There must be hundreds of these petitions now ..every forum seems to have one !!!

I very much doubt they'll achieve anything .. it is an election we need.

if they cut the duty on fuel they would have to take it from us some other way.the only other option they have is to cut spending and that would seriously annoy the people who vote for them, and would amount to political suicide. :(

It will be interesting to se today's results.
I know people vote diferently, sometimes, in local elections but I rather hope the results will give the government something to seriously think about.
Food, fuel, gas and electric, don't know about others but it is going to be a problem before long, for me, at the rate everything is going up. >:(

Signed, I just wonder how long it will be until we get taxed for breathing out co2 from our lungs.  I hate this government.  Totally agree with the comment about the French.  This country is full of doormats.   :'(

Don't know if it'll make any difference, but I have added my name to the cause.

I personally sign as many of these pettions as i can. Why? So they know just how i/we feel about their taxes. Don't sit there moaning & groaning about stuff, get up off your backside & make a difference.
The more we make our feelings heard, hopefully the more they'll listen.

I got a reply back from one of the ones I signed last year.  Just goes to show:

1) Why its a waste of time petitioning
2) Why New Labour got their useless arses whipped last night.

esp this bit:

It remains the case that the retail price of fuel at the pump is ultimately a matter for retailers and their suppliers, and fuel duty is just one of a range of factors which determine the price paid by the motorist.

self-abusers.

i refer to my comment above.

There are loads of these petitions running - if we stuck to one, rather than dilute feelings across a new one every week.
