When I was their age I owned a MK2 Escort with a grey primer front wing..... :'( :'( :'(
-
When I was their age I employed a man with a red flag to walk in front of the car
fixed that for you :)

whats wrong? Didn't you see those poor women tottering around In the middle of the road in 9inch heals and a super car bearing down on them at 80mph?
As equally bloody dangerous as each other it seems to me. ;D

Was this gumball rally week by any chance? Or has that been stopped.
But of course, you know what all the boy racers are going to be doing now. ;D

what in London? never
saying that they were going rather quick through the tunnel which had 30mph at the start of said tunnel
-
racing in a tunnel really clever...mind you why you would want to drive one of those uncomfortable sheds around london beats me...heavy clutch, very uncomfortable driving position and tbh hard work getting the thing wound up...mind you once wound up they go like stink and the noise is something else
-
Very similar goings on over Chelsea bridge with the bike meets. Police where practically powerless there too, tbh.
-
These blokes were purely posers.Using a fraction of the performance of the cars to show them off to the passing public.
If they were really interested in driving the cars they were within approx an hours drive of Brands,Silverstone or Thruxton where they could really have fun,but there wouldnt be impressionable teenagers walking past I suppose.
Personally ,due to the anti social nature not to mention danger to innocents of their activities,I would blow up their expensive toys with them strapped inside them.
-
Prehaps with there exploits now being aired on TV, the police matbe able to do something about the mindless antics being shown in such stupid times of the day?

There is big Audi place up road from the office, got an R8 in there. For a super type, it was very comfy and clutch was as light as the Omega.
Think i'd rather have the V8 than V10 for the tunnels though :)

I had a mk1 escort van covered in grey primer with chrome leaf spring raiser's on the back when i was their age . Start from the bottom and work your way up , went a bit of course with the cougar :-X

The brakes are (still) typically over-servoed though and the PAS gives far too much assistance - though I've only had a drive of the poor-man's V8 version :( Still, if I had to have a day-to-day car to live with it'd be that or a Vantage..
..not a patch on the Ferrari 430 as a fun car, though ;) (Can't speak for the clutch in that one as the one I drove had the flappy paddle gearbox that has about as much mechanical sympathy as a lumberjack)

watched this and the thing that jumped out at me was how bad that policeman was.
the chap had a insurance certificate but because the policeman couldnt check it as it wasnt on the uk database[it was issued in kuwait]
he took the car off him and inpounded it,even said that once the process was started he couldnt stop it,[which sounds like a load of rubbish to me]so did he disbelive it himself in the end?

Police forces earn commission from all third party contracts, including roadside recovery, impounding of vehicles and speed awareness courses, where fines go straight to central government. Many of the companies with these contracts are run by ex-police officers.
The private motorway patrols also have powers to charge motorists and regularly do. So if you have a split radiator hose, oil leak etc, then expect a £400+ hard shoulder cleaning charge.
Personally, I think the police situation is legalised corruption as there is a clear conflict of interest.
UK politicians like to take the moral high ground against Eastern European political and personal corruption especially in Russia and Ukraine, but IMHO they should look at themselves with their expenses scandals, crony capitalism and this sort of thing before they open their mouths as under the current crop of politicians this is getting much worse. Think Tony BLair and the human rights act, mass migrations and his wife as a QC setting up chambers to specialize in the resulting increase in litigation, CaMoron and Clegg's families getting rent on their land for government subsidized wind turbines, Keith Vaz, Tim Yeo and Lord Denham to name but a few examples.

A couple of summers back I spotted a Lambo on the M27/M3 ramp. clearly from the fact alone it`s rear wheel was at a crazy angle & with a damsel in distess I pulled over to offer help.
Apparently this young lady`s new boy friend had legged it, but told her to stay with the car. She was now busting for a loo & a little bit anxious as it was getting dark. swmbo thought she looked very young & called the police.
As it turned out she was a tipsy 15 years old & one of the motorway cops took several goes to get her ID confirmed. Several high performance cars had been spotted earlier rocketing down to Port solent. One of the cops asked her if she would now like to thank us for helpiing her.......all we got was four letter words. Oh well, she was somebody`s daughter.
