Title: The 'Other' Car ( old skool )............
Post by: tomh23 on 05 January 2013, 03:37:20
As much as my Omega is a great car the 'other' car is the better half's really but I do like driving it when she lets me lol

It's a work in progress but we use as a daily driver and hoping to have it all done for the shows this year,

We love it :D no power steering, no abs, no elec windows just a  2.0 8V with skinny tyres and 900KG in weight = Proper driving  :y

In my mind they are the fast hatchbacks of the 1980s, and that looks a great example of one 8) 8) 8) :y

I had a brand new one on credit back in 85 ,i loved it and thought it could beat everything on the road and never leave the the blackstuff.   I was wrong and before even making a payment rolled it into a field ,going over 5 times i wasn't hurt but mate in back broke his ankle whilst other bloke in front escaped uninjured despite door being missing at end of last roll!
I was very lucky if i'd gone in the otherside of the road it is full of large trees-----you've got to have some good luck!

I did prefer the loo of them in the Mk1 shape, looked meaner to me.Nothing wrong with the Mk2 though, just my preferance.

Not quite as old but good fun especially on the roads to Snowdon.

Golf gti on the right.
