Hi i wonder if you can help me. i have an omega 2.2 CDX with climate control. It was all working fine when it went for an MOT . Failed on emissions so they replaced the cam sensor to make it run right & passed its MOT. Got it back & had SAFE displayed on the dash with no radio etc & now the climate control fans will not work although the display says they are. Very Strange. Is it a new display panel bit fed up now as everything was fine. Thanks Dave :'(

You will need the code to enable your radio to work again, it sounds like they've disconnected the battery. The code is found on a credit sized card called the 'Carpass', which has the key number, security code, & radio code on it. If you don't have one, you can obtain one from your nearest VX Dealership by showing proof of ownership (V5C) and driving licence, and the cost varies across the Country, mine cost £25 ::) Before shelling out your hard earned, check inside any books or manuals that came with the car, it may be written down somewhere (4 number code). It could even be written on the radio chassis, but you would need to remove it to check ;)
Also do a 'Reset' on your climate panel by turning on the ignition and pressing 'Auto' & 'Off' on the panel at the same time & holding for a minimum of 5 seconds, you should hear the the motor solenoids resetting themselves unless you have a more obscure fault :-\
Hopefully, that should be end of your (current) troubles! :D
Good Luck! :y

Hi thanks for your replys. Still no luck , have been told it could be the "climate control display panel" so i bought one today on EBay (used). Now how do i remove the old one? ::) Thanks in advance

Unlikely to be climate control display panel mate.
Have you tried a reset as Philrich suggested above?
Check fan motor and "porcupine" ;) (as TB was hinting!!)
-
Have you checked fuse #33 in cabin box

Hi yes checked all fuses & tried the reset Nothing happening! :'( Its been in the garage all week & they cant find the problem.Hoping it was this as a last resort .
-
Have you put 12v direct to fan motor to ascertain whether the fault lies there?
-
Sorry forget to mention . The garage got the radio working but the fan although still says on the display that its working still do not work.
-
Hi yes the garage put a live feed onto the fan & it worked. What or where is the "porcupine"?

Commonly referred to as the "hedgehog" (fan speed controller). Lives to the R/H side of blower motor (towards centre console). Easy test is to pull the connector off the controller and you`ll will see some small & large connectors attached. The large ones are the + supply and the output to the fan. Join the two large connectors, if fan runs "hedgehog" is knackered
Piccie of controller
