Title: BT phone problems.
Post by: Field Marshal Dr. Opti on 09 January 2013, 18:58:50
Shit.....We can't make any outgoing calls and we can't receive incoming calls. The internet connection is also hit and miss at the moment.

Using my mobile I called BT  on 0800  800 151....and got a recorded message telling me there's a fault on the line and they hope to have it sorted by 17 TH JANUARY. I then received a text message confirming this date.

I tried again, and after holding for 15 minutes I was finally put through to a HUMAN BEING... :y :y :y

The very nice INDIAN lady informed me that there is a fault on my line and they hope to have it sorted by 17TH JANUARY. That was it..... She had no further information >:( >:( >:(

Is there any point in calling BT again?.

I could move to Sky like STMO........but they seem like a bunch of chancers too.

Furthermore, I retract my first post to STMO.........BT Customer service is shite. :(

The symptoms imply a poor connection, probably nearer your house than the exchange. If their line testers can pick it up, its probably not going to improve, but should hopefully be easy to find.

I think Openreach are running behind, due to the bad weather before Christmas.

It matters not which phone company you use, with the exception of Virgin Media, Openreach will alway be responsible for the local loop.
