Title: F1 prospects
Post by: Nickbat on 11 January 2013, 21:29:26
The new cars are being unveiled over the next week or two and Martin Brundle reckons that Hamilton will win a GP in 2013 with Mercedes.

What I find really fascinating is that Mercedes have revealed their 1.6 litre V6 for 2014. It has a turbocharger that spins at...wait for it..125,000rpm!  :o :o

Apparently they will be just as deafening as before, but at a higher pitch. I would not advise any spectators with loose fillings to buy tickets.  ;) ;D

Turbos normally spin at approaching 10 times engine speed so that sounds about right. I think Brundle may well be right about Hamilton, and looking at Mercs future development plans, younf Lewis may just have been pretty shrewd. As always though, only time will tell. :y

Mine too,if he gets a good enough car.Imo hes probably the second best driver in F1 at the moment,Hamilton being the best, and Alonso third.

Have to slightly disagree.

Alonso and Raikkonen are prob the best all round drivers and would never bet against either them in a good car. Just look how well they did in car's that where at least 3rd on the grid last year

Hamilton is a good driver but to emotional and wreckless.

Vettel will do well, if not win the championship, he is good and will be in a Newhey car which every other driver/manufacturer has always had to compete against

Watch out for Sauber and Force India they will be making a leap forward this season although "iffy" drivers. Hopefully Williams will make a come back

My favourite drivers are Button and Weber. Good drivers who do not have their head's up their ar**'s

I am hoping for an even better season this year although pi***d it is on sky. Not willing to upgrade to see every race live, might get freesat HD installed to get around it

Thanks for that but would have to u/g to HD, thats what I meant.

Currently running an HD box and at the moment dont see the point of the few extra channels I dont get in HD, apart from the F1 channel of course. Thats why I am considering Freesat HD.

Yes known thanks but one of the European channels showing live with radio 5 live commentary coming from another source

Anyway only considering - BBC coverage will do no matter what time as the lovely Suzi Perry has taken over Jake's position

By the way something for Cem if your reading

"Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan chose not to approve the Formula 1 deal that would have landed the race in Istanbul in 2013. The project, set to cost Turkey around $20m, was supposed to receive $13m of state funding. Erdoğan, however, did not give his approval, and the project fell apart."
