Have a look at this, mine has gone in exactly the same place and I bought this one. It is still sitting on my dining table waiting for the snow to burger off but it looks a very well made pukka bit of kit for not a lot of wonga! :y

On the 4-pots, it may be worth checking that there isn't excessive movement on/of the engine mounts, when this rad failure occurs. The top hose being quite short, I could imagine that if the engine is rocking side-to-side too much on its mounts, some of that energy may end up being transferred by the coolant hose, and end up stressing the area of the rad where these failures seem to happen.
Difficulty is judging how much movement is too much, I guess. Can't remember whether rad failure happened before or after I discovered that one of our engine mounts was an unholy mess of torn rubber.

hmmm could be something in that. have noticed a knock noise on initial start up dosnt sound like a metal knock but haven't really investigated that fully.
cheers philrich saw them on there earlier. most secondhand ones aren't much cheaper than that.
