I am looking forward to this.

Have also enjoyed the various Portillo railway programmes.

Yes, it proved an interesting part 1 of a series. :y

It was however very potted, and designed to be more entertaining than informative on the endless facts, figures and dates available for this subject that us railway historians revel in!  But that is to be expected for a commercial television programme, as I certainly could easily have made that first episode last 3 hours, which, if not a fellow historian / railway historian, would send everyone to sleep. ::) ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D

I look forward to the next episode if only to enjoy the great images of railways, engines, and their trains! :D ;)

Or in my speak - dumbed down. I don't understand why the BBC have to do that. Have the average audience only got an attention span of two nanoseconds? Still it was better than nothing.
