Title: Speedo Cluster failure
Post by: Garrath406 on 16 January 2013, 15:12:15
Hi, Newbie here  :-\,
I recently bought a 2003 2.2 CD DTI. When driving the car home the entire speedo cluster stopped working (inc. temp and fuel gauge). None of the service lights seem to work either, meaning that when the ignition is turned on, the dash cluster is completely blank, although the full beam, indicator and fog light icons still light. This problem is intermittent as when the car is left for a while, everything works when I return, however will fail in 5 mins or so.

I have researched and discovered that the problem can be related to the ABS, however my ABS light is off and ABS still works.

Any suggestions or help would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Garrath.

Not uncommon for loose / poor connections at the back.

Remove cluster and refit it (easy job!), and may well cure the problem.

If that does not work check either fuses 12 or 15 under the steering column. ;)

Hi, So sorry it has taken me to long to update you on this! I bought a new cluster on ebay costing me £60! Fitted it with great excitement only to discover that it hadn't solved the problem. Of course it turned out to be a simple fuse (which I apparently already checked!).

New fuse put in and cluster works perfectly!

Thanks for all your advice!

 ;D

P.s this forum is much better than the forum I joined when I drove a Peugeot!  :y
