Title: Burmese spitfires
Post by: cleggy on 18 January 2013, 07:55:49
According to the BBC there are no Spitfires buried at the three sites in Burma. Archeologists excavating at Rangoon airport have not found any nor at the other two sites. The team leader David Cundhall insists that his eye witness account are correct but the experts say not.

Bit of a shame, it would have been wonderful to dig up over 100 prestine aircraft, but always a bit of a pipe dream :(

I read that article and I thought that reading between the lines it seemed like it was the sponsors getting cold feet! A gaming company from Belarus....  :-\

It seems strange that after a few initial digs they suddenly declare that the buried Spitfires don't exist after all....  ;)
