Title: 2.5 td vacuum pipe snapped???
Post by: smokingomega on 21 January 2013, 19:33:06
Hi all.
I was changing my heater plugs an accidentally snapped a small vac pipe on the pipe above cylinder 3. It was on to a light blue manifold. The pipe seems not go into the car on the n/s.
Does anyone know what the pipe is for?
Could I just block the broken blue manifold off?
Cheers

Not that simple mate. The blue valve has snapped flush. I have a pipe making kit at work if I could get a new blue manifold from somewhere

One vac goes to EGR, via a solenoid, other to heating system. Main vac goes to servo.

I can't picture it, but it seems you need a Tee-piece/Y-piece, of the correct size. I am sure you can jury-rig something until a breaker on here sends you the right fitting. What size does it need to be?

blank off the broken bit, araldite or a screw in it,tape it up,etc then put short piece rubber pipe onto the other outlet, then a plastic tee piece available in all good shops for windscreen washers, then connect both pipes to this, it works mine ran like it for 4 years no problem :y
