Guys
anyone know what correct battery i should have in my car? and how much does a VX one cost?
my Miggy is a 1998 S reg 2.5 V6
my lights aren't that bright, even after changing the bulbs... got a feeling my battery is not the most powerful kind
is it a 72ah one i need or a 70ah?
-
Lights could be wiring mate-terminals=corroded =heavy current loss=dim :y
what model again-cant remember-is it air con?
-
my car is the one with climate control matey, and the V6 engine, climate dont work! no cold air for the last 4 years
think i need a new condensor, have to take it to an air con specialist probably, but im not fussed, as long as get heat, which i have...thanks to you :y
can you do my terminals?? check em?

Dim lights are unlikely to be an aging battery :)
Could be alternator output is a tad low, or that the headlight lenses are damaged. And all connections, as Symes says.
-
Ageing bulbs do not help either. Most people are surprised at how much performance is lost over the life of a bulb.
-
the bulbs are only 4 weeks old :y
lenses on headlights are fine
alternator need replacing if the connections aren't corroded? :o
Syme, did you say my battery output was low recently when you tested it?
you were a bit concerned as it was very low? could be that mate? :o

got 120 bosch here on floor if you want, had it cos mine was squeaking but flushed rear bearing =1020miles no probs :y
-
whats a 120 Bosch? lol
-
Got a Bosch S5 myself can't fault it :y
-
As always.. A bit of diagnosis is best before changing parts on a hunch...

Well we check outputs first mate, Then see what's going on mate :y :y But there is one here IF needed mate :y
-
remember what alternator is on mine? and did you say my battery was underpowered, i cant remember lol :o
-
If I remember correctly think output was 13.6/13.7v correct me if wrong mate :y
-
that means nothing to me, i play keyboards and sing ::) :D
-
well seen better mate :y
-
that output reading, is that the battery or alternator causing that?
-
alternator I did write them down in = workshop somewhere :y
-
so, if connections are all okay and wiring etc, the new alternator MAY improve my lights being dim?
-
Well one step at a time eh mate :y
