Title: What would you do
Post by: Elite Pete on 23 January 2013, 13:46:05
Every Tuesday night there is a new shape Honda Civic that is parked on the street I live on. The male and female occupants then walk to the pub which is about 150 meters away and around a corner. The car is parked about 8.30 pm and they come back to between 11.15 pm and 11.45 pm. The pub is popular one in a small village but it has a large car park so there's plenty of places to park. Why don't they use the pub car park even in the poor weather conditions, any suggestions?

They don't want their car scratched or scraped by idiots in the car park?

In the event of it being stolen , they can knock on your door and ask for details of the thieves?

It is their daily exercise?

They say when asked for a lift home, sorry we walked.

They don't want to be observed staggering out of the pub to their car and trying to get the key in the lock? ;)

I reckon that's nearer the mark, more chance if being pulled over exiting the pub car park ???

That was my first thought. Drink driver.

Although might just be car proud, and wanting dinged doors etc.

Yes, that is my thought as well.

Police patrol cars do sit close to a pub's car park at around chucking out time to catch those not capable of driving. :y

If you see this couple staggering to their car, and the driver seemingly incapacitated, then ring 999 immediately.  You could save a life! :y :y

Is it a pub you go in. If so pop along on a Tuesday night and, observe.

Many years ago a TR7 convertible always used to be parked in a particular spot on a Thursday evening. A few of us decided to observe. What we saw was an attractive young lady arrive in the TR7 and another car I can't remember what arrived and the said young lady got in the other and they drove off. I will you to decide what was going on. This was approx 1982 and the TR was very new.

There's more chance of the car getting dinged parked on the road as it's very narrow and the pub car park is almost empty through the week. Mel had a tractor rip the side out of Cavalier she once had outside the house and the tractor never even stopped >:(

A lot of you had the same idea as me, they are getting pished, driving home and not wanting to get spotted leaving the pub car park. So do I let the local police know or as Steve so nicely puts it, stop being a old woman ;D

I would guess that the driver doesnt want his car to be spotted in the car park of the pub anf the questions that may be asked if the info got back to their spouse.

Sorry, but no.  The police consider that situation an emergency and they need the information immediately, before someone drives any distance and kills someone. 101 gets you through to a county switchboard, and they then relay the call to your "local" station / control room, which is a far slower process and is for non-urgent calls. ;)

They are both married but not neccessarily to each other....   ;D

But they dont want to be spotted driving from the pub, for whatever reason, methinks.  ;)
