Hy guys, I have this problem coming around for a few months now. HU is CCR600 with cdc cartridge for 6 discs. For example....started the car, put full cartridge in and it does it's work nicely till I turn the car off. After that it plays only the cd played last, won't change it, displays CDC ERROR, won't play unless I turn HU on/off few times and usually it doesn't eject cartridge for all day.
I know it's old and slowly going out but is there anything I can do to make it last longer? Stripping cdc down, clean it and put some grease onto mechanism?

Generally very reliable system.
I vaguely recall a software update for the radio to overcome (it didn't entirely) communication errors between radio and cdc
-
Thank TB, so it's HU - CDC communication problem, nothing mechanical...
-
After you get CDC Error, is the CDC unresponsive until you restart the car?
-
No TB, I only need to turn HU on/off few times and it starts to play cd curently played before but it won't change cd untill I'm able to remove cartridge and put it back again
-
I can hear cdc unit trying to change cd but it stucks. Like it's jammed
-
Hmmm, does sound like the unit has a fault then :(
-
....maybe something's mechanicaly wrong inside. It works nice otherwise, no problem, no skipping, repeating songs, laser ok , I only play original cd-s, no home computed music
-
Sounds like dirty sensor switches to me and cannot determine where the elevator mech is sitting.
Clean switches and should be ok.

Thanks Dave, will be a sunday job :y

mine had the same fault.. I didnt bother.. new units with mp3 capability can play CDs (or USB sticks) with millions of songs.. who is going to insert CDs to boot.. not worth imo..

I know Cem, that's why I made aux input on it. But it's nice to see it working if it's already there. As the rest of the car ;D

Just a little update on a cdc issue.
The problem was one of two arms that move laser unit, had snaped.
Therefore cd couldn'b be changed and cartridge was stuck. A 20 min of work and it was fixed, still playing as good as new.
