Title: Cat D values

I've always been led to believe a Cat D is worth 20% less when repaired than a similarly specced and aged model, and it's what I've always based my valuations on, is this correct? Reading the interweb as you do, brings up various different things about lots of rubbish really, but it puts the doubt in my mind.

It's worth the same as any second hand car - whatever you are prepared to pay, but does depend on your evaluation of the car as it stands in front of you.

I have seen some damage repaired cars that are completely I identifiable from straight I damaged and others that I would t pay scrap value for....

Hate to say the old chesnut,but check with your insurance company FIRST as some wont insure cat D/C until they see engineers report and a safety check from vosa..

That may explain why I was having such a ball ache trying to get quotes for mine :-\
