Title: Greasing ball joints.
Post by: car5car on 24 January 2013, 23:08:08: Left one didn't have free play, but was spinning by hand like it was dry (no grease). Right one has very small free play. If I can carefully add grease under rubber boot w/o damaging boot, ball joints will probably work for another year or two.
Did anybody do that?

IMO fit a new one while its off, but needs must.

Oh, get-out-of-jail-free card - I need car for Manchester on Tuesday, and won't have time for alignment before. Guess the track rod will have to wait ;D

I think you'll find for European cars, not detectable play is permitted. Not sure what the Amercian specs/allowances are.

Which Honda? I had about 30 bikes (old ones), favorite ones: Honda VT1100, Suzuki Bandit 1200, Kawasaki Vulcan 1500. I just bought my third VT1100.
