its says
"just pull the handle away from the door. Put your fingers all the way round and lever it away. shouldn't take too much but be firm and constant with the pressure, and it will just pop off." I'm their liar ;D

Door card off for a start :y
the strip at the top is going to bolt/screw to the glass & the winder fastens to the door by however means the old on is fastened.
-
I have had the door card off andy but cant get to the bottom of the window to get to any bolts :( the winder is pop riveted so will need to drill them out . Just the bolts on the window , as its held up with wood block :-\

Take the wood block out (carefully) and the window will move up and down ;)
Looking at that part I'd say that the "bar" on it will probably be at the rear of the window instead of along the bottom with the glass sitting in the white plastic bit ;)

Me no understand ??? I think the best thing is to get a few pictures to explain , only other option i thought was to take the other door panel off and see how that is fixed . The trouble with the one in the broken one is the one cable has come off the metal bit and the other end of it broken on the winding mechanism >:( so wire is a mess and no way of telling how it should be routed ???

The blue is the bottom of the window where the metal bar sits.
The red circled is the door winder which has a plastic grooved barrel thats snapped on the back of what you see.
The yellow is where the cable has come off the window .
Confused , i am ::)

You need to replace the whole mechanism, not just the yellow bit. Don't try and take apart your 'new' mechanism just unbolt the complete unit including the metal bar...
Lower the window (as said) and then you should see a hole in the middle of the glass that the white plastic piece (on the mechanism) fits into. There should be a clip that pops off before you can remove the white bit.

+1 thats the way,just remember how you wiggle the complete mechanism out of the door aperature as that will be the way the replacement goes back in :y
