Hi Chaps
After a bit of advice, Omega Estate 2.2 CDTI 2003 reg manual
115000 miles on the clock and mechanically other than periodic, oil, and filters changed, rear shocks, brakes, steering arm and heater resistor pack she hasn't received or needed much work.
last time I took her out was a couple of weeks ago where on a 400 mile round trip to sheffield she ran perfectly.
So this morning (outside temp circa -4 degrees c) I jump in to head to the station, only a 7 mile trip and she starts fine, idles fine for a couple of mins and then starts to sound a little rough. I get 200 yards down the road and she is blowing blue smoke kangarooing and flashing what I guess to be a misfire engine light. Concious I'm on a quater tank of fuel and this feels like past experiences with bad fuel, and she's been standing for a while I stop at the BP and fill up, thinking if its dodgy fuel then a tank of good fuel will dilute any problem.
the next 6 miles to the station she seems fine and by the time I arrive the temp gauge is showing circa 80 degrees (about normal I find).
So I get back to the station tonight and its about -1 degrees, she starts fine again but as I pull away and all of the way home (7 miles again) I'm getting;
intermittent kangarooing
smoke (I assume blue again buts is dark so I can't tell)
no power (apart from breif spurts she won't go over 2000 rpm even with foot to the floor)
intermittent engine check light
got home and the temp gauge hadn't moved from the bottom, checked the coolant bottle and its warm (but not hot) though I can't comment on the coolant in the engine
so mt first thoughts are;
collapsed cat?
blocked fuel filter?
dodgy fuel (unlikely as I filled up)
failing/failed turbo?
any thoughts on cause and suggestions on action to take greatly appreciated as I'm supposed to be driving a couple of thousand miles next week, and confidence is not high.
man thanks
Mark

additional info slipping teh clutch can help a bit,
reving whilst in neutral doesn't like going any higher either
-
could be crankshaft sensor,putting it into limp mode :y
-
thanks any easy way to check? is that more likely than any of my earlier thoughts?

Well all fixed looks like the the simple cheap problem
New fuel filter and all is well
Though what a sod to change :-\

Good news that its an "easy" fix :)
Yours is not the CDTi engine, but DTi. The CDTi was never fitted to Omegas. The only Omega common rail was the Y25DT fitted to the 2.5DTi's, only available in Opel trim.
