Title: Humax HDR Fox T2
Post by: Andy B on 26 January 2013, 23:00:49
Any experts out there. It records as it should, plays back as it should but ...... even though when you delete stuff, it goes from the list of recorded programmes, it doesn't seem to be being deleted from the hard disc ie the cake icon showing the amount of space left & used doesn't show any increase after your recorded programme has been deleted.
There's now 73GB left of 500  :-\ :-\ :-\

I'll phone them Tues when I'm off, I just wondered if anyone had experienced anything like it before. SWMBO has only just told me exactly what the problem was with it. Last update was in May ....... but can't now remember how to get to the auto/manual update pages  ::) :-[

Do you have an Opt+ button to get to  the file manager?

Yes. The recorder goes through the motions of deleting, ... '*deleting' appears, but the above of disc space available does'n't increase after deletion  :-\

Check to see if its got the latest firmware on it - it should be 1.02.29

Mine is set to upgrade automatically, but you can upgrade manually using a usb stick.

If all fails maybe a hard disc problem of course but.... not sure if you want to consider this step below:

http://www.astra2.org/hiddenmenu.html (http://www.astra2.org/hiddenmenu.html)

I have not had cause to use it myself so not a recommendation - just a suggestion if all else fails.

not sure what you mean - on mine - press menu and tab down to bottom icon and enter - up comes diagnostics and other options which you access via left commmand - so first is diagnostics and you enter and get screen 2

If OP has latest firmware on it, you dont need to access the hidden menu to do HD checks, its in the diag menu on the latest firmware  :y

One of the options when you select the file is to lock the file......ie you cannot delete it, without unlocking it again. I would expect the Humax to give an error if you did try to delete a locked file, but i dont know as ive never tried to do this. If a file is locked when you select it, the option changes to unlock, so if unlock is showing in the options, the file is locked  :y

But the main think to check first, is have you got the latest firmware on it?????

Mine has and I deleted shed loads from it the other night.....i even put it in standby, because it was taking so long to delete....it carried on deleting even tho it was on standby and when i checked the 'cake' icon the next day....it was showing what i expected on free disk space  :y
