Just been watching car wars on BBC1 and the one of the scumbag car thieves favorite in Manchester is a Saab. So you know where to go when you get bored of the car Dave ;D

Goes to show how stupid criminals are! ;) There are a FEW with redeeming qualities, but I'll never have a Saab. My parents had to trade their Austin America for the 3rd tranny on their 99. We also had a saying when I was at Uni; "Saab's are great for ice racing. They're fwd and no one ever cared about a Saab."
Rant over . . . :D

Ah u missed a couple Pete ;D mazda 323, nissan?, and something else can't remember ;D

Considering I have the rarest Saab 9000 I will be keeping well clear of Manchester! :o

Steal a SAAB? I couldn't even take one when I had the keys!
Borrowed a mates SAAB, he just threw the kays at me and said take it. 10 minutes later still on his drive looking for the ignition. Duh

When i bought my first Omega it was a toss up between that and a Saab 9000 CSE in very tidy condition that i was offered. Sooo glad i went with the Barge :)

It is weird going from the Saab to the Omega now.
Omega is just so quiet and smooth. Soaks up the bumps very nicely too. :)
Saab on the other hand is noisier (3" straight though exhaust system), has "firm" suspension and just 4 cylinders... :-/
But the Saab goes rather well ( ;)) and is much more communicative in the steering. It is a car you really drive (damn understeer!)
Omega or Saab 9000?
Unless it is a Carlssson/Aero, I would choose the Omega. :)
But, and this is just my opinion, the Aero is one of the most fun cars you can buy with the finest seats in any car I have ever been in!
-
Obviously not in the same league, but around the lanes, I kinda like my little Rover. Its got a certain thrashability about it, and it pisses off a lot of other cars as it can outbrake and out corner any chavmobile...
The MV6 is fun, esp with updated autobox.
But the ZX-10 is some real fun. Lunatic fun. Just downright dangerous.

A friend used to have a ZX-10... lunatic fun is a good description! :o
Preferred my old ZZR1100, handling was more accomodating! 8-)

Front end handling is somewhat suspect on ZX10, I heard they'd fixed that for ZZR1100?

Do I take it you own a 9000 Carlsson??
Have to say its one of those cars that was on my list of cars to own but I never did!!
I've always fancied a 'blown' 9000,one of my neighbours used to own one only he had to sell it coz apparently it was the cars fault he kept getting stopped for speeding!!
But the best one i've seen for a long time (and we're talking about 10 years back) was an oldish guy who lived in the Loughborough area.
It was a Dark green D reg, just that it had been lowered on 17" Compomotive MO's,MASSIVE brake conversion with 4 pots and unspecified horses under the bonnet...although the 'Abbott Racing' sticker on the back kinda gave the game away!! ;)
One of the lads in the 21T club swapped his 21T for a 9000 Carlsson,he said it went better than the Renault but the handling resembled a barge!!! Very front end heavy he said but a superb car all the same.
-
Oh yes I have a 2.3 Carlsson. :D
Like you I had always wanted one, and I found one at an excellent price with virtually a complete history.
Will make mincemeat of a 21T but I agree, front heavy....
I have plans for this though.... ;)

Never got to ride any of the newer Kwackers, last one I had was a GPX. Loads of fun but then kids arrived and curtailed that avenue of pleasure.

My last big bike was 16 years ago - kept getting pulled
