Hi guys just wanted to clarify that even tho i took a rubber seal off the sump that i can use the grey sealent used for the oil cooler to put back on instead?? :-\

Yes I believe you can as it has been covered in other threads. :y :y

I'm borrowing this thread instead of making a new one.
I have fitted the sump with the gasket only(new one), does it need some liquid sealer aswell?
Been a bit worried about this as I don't want it to leak as soon as I put oil in it :P
The engine is on a engine stand so no big job taking it off again if needed

If you got a good make then should be ok :y

If it's on a stand I think I'd whip it off and use some sealant on it for good measure although it shouldn't be needed

Where did you get ur gasket from. Main dealers was a rip off I thought.

I don't know the make of the gasket, as it came with the engine when i bought it.
But i know the guy who built the engine bought aftermarket head gasket set, so i'm guessing that the sump gasket is aftermarket aswell.

Well good luck with getting it in a car. I'm just going to seal mine up with the sealant as that sounds like what everyone else does.
