Title: Heater
Post by: Ray Austin on 05 February 2013, 15:56:41
This is Rays wife, I've been driving the Omega today. It has a Diesel heater to heat up the coolant but seems to make too much smoke. People keep stopping us, flashing their lights to tell us that the engine is smoking. When I got out today I had to stand by the car until it stopped smoking in case someone decided to call the fire brigade. Can the Diesel heater just be disconnected or will it affect the running of the vehicle as it is now becoming quite a problem.
Thanks, Jackie :(

You can simply unplug it.

Pulled the fuse on the heater no 24 will try and see if that had other effects.

Does the car need the diesel heater, without the heater does it take longer for the coolant to heat up.

Is their a reason why it is very smokey we get people waving their arms and shouting your car on fire.

What make is the heater and can it be serviced in some way.

At the moment my wife does not want to drive the car which is not a bad thing at least she cant hit the gate post.
