Title: Owning the sky....

Someone suggested buying and naming a star after our child which is due soon.
Nice idea I suppose, then my next thought was... Hang on, who owns the sky? Who would I buy. A star from and how is it hat they "own" the sky?
Can't I just pick a star and say its mine?
