Hahahahaha ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Was in stitches laughing with my mate this evening. He came over to se if I could change his drivers' side indicator bulb on his newly purchased 2003 Renault Megane (the one with the funky bottom).
I don't know why, but something in my mind told me to check the procedure on Google.... and I'm glad I did.
Wheel off. Cap in wheel arch lining off. Reach in and bending your hand (which is made of pipe cleaners) in 5 different positions twist the plastic tab 90 degrees. This tab is set in concrete just to make the job a bit easier
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Well got a bit further and pulled the whole bottom of the wheel arch liner out but still this tab wouldn't budge.
After another quick Google search it seems that Renault drop the whole bumper to do it ;D ;D ;D ;D
A couple of years ago I'd have got wound up, smashed the car with my hammer and had a right tizzy. These days though I'm a lot more patient and we just had a good laugh about it.
Now to see about getting the bumper off...... ;D ;D ;D ;D

I wonder if Halfords would fit it for £3.99? ;D

On the pug there is a hatch you pull down in the wheel arch liner , its awkward but do-able with inflicted scratches to hand :(

Halfords have various get out clauses ........ The charge around £6 to change a car battery. I asked about if I wanted my R Class's battery changed, she had a look in her book & then said that they wouldn't do it. (NB it lives under the driver's seat ::))

lol honestly mate been at it for 2 hours tonight ;D ;D ;D ;D i can get my hand over the indicator holder tab thing but theres no room to twist it and no room to work some pliers in there.
just found a guide for removing the bumper and headlight assembly... going to do that next week :y

Yup. Heard same story about 3 jobs ago, my old boss had to go through same thing. It was brand new at the time, local garages would not touch it. Dealer only ???

Very similar problem with mine , your flap must be smaller then and designed for girlie french hands ;D

can you pop the whole indicator light out and change it

looks like, after some research, that what renault do is drop the entire front bumper and light cluster assembly and do it that way hahahaha i told him not to buy french.
looking forward to it though

When I took wifey's megane in for its first service, renault asked me if I wanted the pollen filter changing. I said that if it was on the service schedule, why wouldn't I?
Because.......the pedals have got to come off.....on the wrong side you see. ;D
That will be £245 please.

My nephews got the same Megane and it took me 15 minutes to change the headlight bulb, no longer than an Omega headlight bulb being honest ::)

headlight bulb, pete, is perfectly accessable ;)

must admit i had to put a side light bulb in my suzuki grand vitara you would think being a 54 reg and still a proper jeep that some thing as simple as a side light would take mins ,ye right you have to take grill trim off then take out the headlight to get at it,daft,
-
On thr new shape megane it's bumper off for fog lights only. As wifey doesn't know what they are for, they shouldn't need changing.
And Webby....I am not joking. Imagine an omega with the pedals on the wrong side, that's the problem.

Surely it's a Suzuki :P :P

LMFAO hahahahahaha this service is gonna take hours hahahahahahaha
-
It isn't just Renaults, had to put a front sidelight bulb in a 52 plate Corsa the other day and the headlamp needs to be partially removed to do it :-X
-
LMFAO hahahahahaha this service is gonna take days hahahahahahaha

But all good practice for when you do it again ;)

Modern renaults are quite good. Of course they are not screwed together like an omega but, compared to other modern shitboxes, ie. Focus, corsa, astra, hyundais etc., they are on a par. They are very light and modern inside with plenty of toys.
If we are talking french shite, then I have to agree with peugeot/citroen.
