Anyone used this supplier:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-OPTICAL-LASER-LENS-for-OPEL-NCDC-1300-1500-2011-2013-2015-player-/360534487519?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53f187b1df (http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-OPTICAL-LASER-LENS-for-OPEL-NCDC-1300-1500-2011-2013-2015-player-/360534487519?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53f187b1df)
Also assume this does the top CD/Nav reader & cannot be used on CDC?

Cheers, anyone used them before, do they work/last? :-\

Interesting, got two here that could do with swapping out.

If MotherT gets a new Estate, I want her NCDC and CID :D
Lasers tired as usual, so want to refurb.
Wonder what little fatty thinks of them :-\
-
I don't think anyone has done it, tbh.
-
Ive seen this company recommended before.slightly more expensive though.

I need one for a 2013 unit I have, but not sure its worth it as its only a GID type inut.On the other hand, the rest of it works fine,so it seems a shame to let it go to waste. :-\
-
Think there is a real need to have them refurbished, as lots of them are getting tired.
-
Seem to remember a member posting up a supplier in Kent that ended with good results a short while back.
Cant find the post though. :-\

MarksDTM has done a few successfully. Think VXL V6 has also fitted one or two

Are they straight swaps or do they need calibrating ? I have a tired laser in my 2013 too.... Only works when the car/radio warms up
-
i did mine with a 7 quid one from a german ebay trader, still working 18 months on, and pain was it wasnt the laser but the main drive so kept the origianal as a spare
-
Done a few now, won't be doing any more.

Would you like to share your experiences..

I'll have to dig out the notes and photo's I took. :y
It's fiddly removing the sled that the laser travels on and you have to be careful as it's quite a fragile setup.
-
Here is a How To, its in Dutch but probably you can read the photo's. ;D

Thanks..
Chrome translates it but takes all the comments from the photos and puts it all in one paragraph..

Easy enough to do if a little fiddly.
No setup required as the PIN diode is ready calibrated.
-
Are the lasers the same for the top and bottom CD slots on the NCDC2013 ?

Nope, bottom one no longer available but can be sourced secondhand.

IMO, its interesting that the bottom cd changer laser rarely plays up.
Ime at least, its always the top nav slot. I suspect the nav is constantly reading the nav disc, if inserted, and it just wears out.
Maybe removing the nav disc if not in use might help?

It is permanently reading the disc. :y

Thats because you don't play many CDRs in your CDC, as you use your uphill gardener gaypod thing.
I get through more CDCs than I do top slot mechs

stop using CDR's then, silly!
Gaypod player has a draw back, its only compatable with an outdated iPod, 3rd gen iirc. Therefor the battery will be fe@ked. The lap top wont charge it, so can't update the play lists, so it doesn't get the use as I'm bored with the contents.
Top slot has Paloma Faith. :y
