Hi
I have an omega 2.0 2000.
I have a strong smell of petrol coming from the exhaust. Fair bit of white smoke too.
The car has been laid up for a long time before i had bought it (4 months) but it did have a big run of 70 miles getting it home. It has been sat outside without moving for the last month.
I dont think there is any oil coming out, just seems to be water vapour.
No mayo in header tank or oil cap.
The breathers were a bit gunked up but still sucking air. Engine head could do with a flush too, bit dirty in my opinion.
The iacv has been cleaned with carb cleaner to solve erratic idling too.
So the car seems to warm up correctly and idle correctly now (big thanks to all the contributors on this site -you know who you are...)
So in short the car seems to be running quite rich.
Anyone have any ideas how to solve this?
Ta.

coolant temp sensor?

The dash temp gauge never gets above 1/3 about 80 degrees. Seems wrong.
I suppose the best thing would be to get a diagnosis software kit off flea bay.

dash temp and ecu coolant sensors are both seperate buddy
