Hi fellow OOFrs,
My year 2000 facelifted V6 auto est is making a very loud wine/rumble from the N/s front which starts at around 30mph upwards.
When driving, if you reduce the pressure on that side by turning left the sound decreases noticably. I think it is a worn bearing.
I have looked at the maintenance guides and taken advice, they would suggest changing the hub/bearing as one.
Does anyone know the best/cheapest method to buy the hub+bearing?
Ebay is mentioned and a link was provided, but using the link to a VH parts supplier but I became unsure when asked was my model an Omega B?
If anyone knows the above with a number to phone or link to the exact part that would be great.
Many thanks
Mike

The wheel baring is part of the hub, its machined in, so its not possible to buy a seperate wheel baring from the hub itself. One of those myths I'm afraid.
And having tried a few aftermarket wheel bearings with early failures from weeks to 6 months, the only ones i'd recommend to anyone else are fag. These are available from allgermanparts, link in parts for sale/wanted, and are the oe supplier.
They are about £60(compared to £100+ at vx) and come with the wheel baring nut, and the cap which is £5 and doesn't come with aftermarket units. The cap often gets irreparably damaged on removal if its stubborn to come off.
So, in short, fag as cheapest reliable supplier. Ime.
