Title: Changing ECU
Post by: albitz on 21 February 2013, 19:59:37
When swapping one ECU for another,my understanding is that the transponder around the ignition barrel and key chip also need to be changed with the ECU ?
Does the alarm ECU need to be changed also ?

I think I have my terminology mixed up.Immobiliser = the part around the ignition barrel, yes ?
Transponders ? = Chips from keys,yes ?

That is correct  ;)
If you go to a vauxhall dealer the can program the ECU if you don't have the Immobiliser/Transponders, but if you got ECU/Immobiliser/Transponders you don't need to
