Title: battery/alternator problem ??
Post by: noel on 24 February 2013, 08:33:42
noticed just recently after starting car from cold, when switching headlights on they seem to have a yellow glow for about 2 seconds then shine with there normal blue/violet tinge.
could this be a sign of a partially discharged battery or a failing altenator :-\

sorry not very good at auto electrics and any advice would be helpful.
thanks in advance Noel :y

Sounds like they are HID headlights, in which case this is completely normal. they take a few seconds to warm up. :y

not sure whats fitted but its a standard 2.6 cdx ;)

checked the battery and its reading 12.40v  and with engine running it reads 14.15v  which sounds pretty healthy to me :y

Believe F/L CDXs have HIDs as standard - certainly the ones I've seen have been fitted with HIDs :)

mine has level adjusters on rear wishbone,

HID level switches are on the front nearside lower wishbone & rear nearside radius arm. Self levelling suspension where fitted has a level switch on the rear offside radius arm.  :y
