97 98 MAF is easy to diagnose, I think (numbers are stamped on sensor):
1) it has heater, black wire #1 is ground, red/blue wire #3 is 12V from fuse, resistance is 750 Ohm
2) 2 wires go to ECM: signal wire #4 blue/green and signal ground wire #2 brown/green
99-01 MAFs are more complicated:
blu/black #4 wire gets 5v from ECM, like many sensors do
gray/red #5 signal to ECM
brown/green # 3 is signal ground
What about last 2 wires? :-\ :'(
Wires 1 and 3 connected to resistor on sensor.

Pin 1 - Intake Air Temperature output
Pin 2 - +12V supply
Pin 3 - Ground
Pin 4 - +5V supply
Pin 5 - Mass air output
