sounds like the battery leads connectors to me knackered so not charging right, check if they getting hot when running

Although you have fitted a new battery is the A.M P  hour correct as half the time suppliers give out the wrong battery..i speak from expierence....i had to change mine through the same thing....ended up changing the starter motor...that cured it   :y

Where abouts are you nutty ?
What engine ?
Any lights on the dashboard ?
Any codes stored ?

Maybe one of the local members could pop round for the offer of a few beer tokens

Shame to break it unless you are absolutely of that mind. I am Worcestershire by County and West Midlands by Post Code. I'm not a professional mechanic etc but have kept my Omega going (hands on) by using OOF and its resources. Do send me an email if I'm local enough for you to have another look. I notice active 'West Midlands' members on the site who may also see this before you decide.

Hi !

I have a similar problem with both my cars...

Car 1:
2002 2.2 Petrol Sedan
Sometimes theres no crank....
good battery, over 12v doesent go below when crank doesent work, it doesent eaven try to crank, evetything else works.
To get it started, jumpstart using other car och simply connect battery-charger for a few minutes (so that voltage get to ~14v) then it works fine !! And when I say Batterycherger I mean a tiny-winy longterm intelligent charger (c-tek) nothing that have boost function.
Could it be the solenoid that it being old ?


Car 2:
2000 3.0 Petrol Estate
9 times out of 10 no problems.
But every now and then its the same thing as car 1.
But here its not the same troble getting it started after.
Simply put ingnition of (and key out), switch on headlamps and try again and if fires up.

WTF !!

Same problem on both do you think ?
