Title: Oil Filter

Not sure if this has been asked before,iv'e tried to remove the oil filter and will it come off  will it ####!! Any tips as i don't want to damage the housing.Cheers.

is it the housing/paper element filter ?

If it is the paper element one you need to get a long bar with the socket on it and it should come off I had the same problem and it broke the web off inside the casing I have since changed it to the canister type much easier  :y

Some have used a strap type filter remover on the housing base to hold it in position while the ally filter housing is removed.

It's a recurring theme of over tightened housings that won't come off. The torque of 25Nm really is only just a nip .....

Cheers for the advice,it is a paper element.Have tried it with a long bar so will give it go with the strap holding the housing.Thanks again everyone!! :y

I'd tend to shock it undone ie a universal 2lb knocking stick onto a spanner rather than a long lever  :-\
