Title: battey drain

just picked up a 2.5 td auto estate n reg its got a drain on the battery last owner said it will drain a good battery over night i havent had a chance to look at it yet any ideas before i start pulling bits off thanks

If you can get yourself one of those amp meters which plug straight into the fuse that should help no end to tell you the problem circuit.

Most common is interior /boot/glove box lights.

My money is on the Glow Plug Relay, they arc, pit up across the contacts and intermittently switch the Glow Plugs on when ever they feel like it after being parked up. Can kill a fully charged battery in less than an hour.

Took me months to find the problem with mine when I had a 2.5TD lump.

Looking at it today I think the interior heater fan/blower is working when the car is locked ??????
