Title: Oil colour/quality at the change on a TD at 3000 miles?

Hi all,

Does anyone have any pictures of what their oil looks like after roughly 3000 miles on the TD please?
I just want to compare to mine as I think the car is running well but I just want to be sure :)

After 3000 miles on a wheesel, it should be black ;D

You could post yours and let others advise. But Diseasels turn their oil black almost instantly.

Yeh the DTi's turn it black within a drive or two, important thing is the lubricating properties of the oil and how it's broken down over time.

Yes I certainly will do and I yes I had noticed that, kinda depressing until you realise its ok.

A cahnge of oil in my diseasal Astra used to be black by the time it'd been around the block  ;) ;)

3k on a TD, and the oil is spent.

you mean that oil isn't good for 20000 miles like the dealer said?  ???  ;D ;D

I've just (a 1000 miles ago) done an oil change on my Merc & it said that the next one is due in 17500 miles ...... I'll do the next in about 5000 miles

I think even Vx say 4500 max :o
