Ok not my Omega but one of my veccy's
Came back to me today running on 3 cylinders......
So i read the codes....loads listed but went thro em all and decided nothing to do with the prob....miss fires detected etc etc and a MIL error
So i changed the plugs.....fixed the prob....so i thought....took it out on a quick test drive....running on all 4 cylinders.....i thought great. ...but my driver has just called and said still missing under load....so im now thinking of coil pack......any other ideas ?? Its done 170k miles now!

Try cleaning the coil pack out with a little WD40, see if that helps.

If it aint the plug, its got to be a lead, and if it aint a lead it must be coil pack.... :-/
-
By the looks of it.....im thinking along the right lines cheers guys :y
My VeecyC came back last week, sitting about spare at the mo.
Problem is with VeccyB.....same engine in them.....so i'll swap coil packs....see if that fixes it :y
Oh no leads Mark.....they got coil packs like the 2.2/2.6/3.2 Omegas

To let you know the outcome....
I swapped the coil packs over.....VectraB now behaving....VectraC now has the problem......so pretty conclusive....its the coil pack.
I enjoy it being able to find the fault without having to take it to a garage....satisfying feeling :)

Nice work TD :y
Generally, if I get a specific cylinder misfire code, clear it, and it reoccurs again within a few hours, I usually put it down to coil pack - assuming that cam gaskets haven't failed and filled plug wells up with black stuff...

Be thankful its not a Renault, fifty quid a coil and there are four of them and they go about every 18 months......plus if you dont change them all then you end up fixing it every 4-5 months!
80-90 quid is about right for these......
