Hi guys
For about 2 years now I've been threatening to replace the engine in my 3L MV6 Auto with the "good" one from my old (and now crushed) 3L Elite/MV6 hybrid manual.
Now my hand has been forced - one of the head gaskets has let go big time. Well, it has done 180k so guess I can't complain.
I have a moderately lightened flywheel to put on so I'll be doing the rear crank seal while I'm in there, just need to work out best way to lock the flywheel to remove the bolts.
I have on my list:
- Rear crank seal
- 3.2 Exhaust manifolds
- Cam cover gaskets
- Timing kit and water pump
- Thermostat
- Lambda sensors
Anything else worth changing? Engine mounts, etc.?

I locked mine by using the crankshaft locking tool that come in the timing belt tool kit. When I tried undoing the flywheel bolts tho they where solid and ended up rouinding a few of the bolts so i would suggest heating them up and make sure the socket is a good fit.

Check new and oil thermostats in boiling water to see, which one opens wider.
