Title: Goodbye
Post by: Ratty on 10 March 2013, 15:11:07
My Omega has bit the dust, and is being scrapped tomorrow. I doubt I'll be getting another Omega again, I really do love them but I just can't afford to run such a big thirsty car anymore..

So, I'll take this opportunity to thank everyone  that has helped me over the years and wish you all the very best wishes for the future.

Take care all  :y :)

The amount of people that are shedding their Omegas is discomforting.

We will soon have to change the name to Was Omega Owners Forum.

Hmmm....

Then we'll all be Woofers.  ;)

No need to leave mate - a lot of us have moved on (although SWIMBO still drives a f/l Estate)
There is life after Omegas and one day maybe they'll be thought of as classics

I'll probably pop my nose in every now and again to see how it's all going.

you never know, if finances improve I might, just might, get another one. I actually picked up a cheap Kia Magentis to tide me over till I find a me suitable car, only 300 quid on a 55 plate.

Which engine? my eldest step son has just bought a 2.0L Petrol on an 57 plate and is appalled at the MPG........ :( :(

2.0L and only got it Friday, so it's too early to really gauge the MPG, Only planning to keep it for a couple of months anyway. but considering I was only getting about 17MPG round town with the Omega, it has to be an improvement on my pocket for a while :)

I really feel quite sad about the omega going, stripped all my stuff out of it today, it felt like I was losing a friend.... (yeah I know I'm a silly old duffer)  :-[

I think he was talking low 20's which would be an improvement on your Mig, I think he got a shock because he moved from a diesel Mondeo and he has quite a long motorway commute, he knows nothing about cars, did he ask advice or suggestions, no.......... ::) ::) ::)
