Mine playing up (I think)
The lights have always seemed a little dodgy in operation.
Now, the "D" light refuses to play and some of the others are starting to join him >:(
P01700 code present since I got the car.
Also pulled another code out of the gearbox ecu which said something about wrong range ? Sorry, deleted the code number :-[
Now, I'm getting it dropping into limp mode :(
I've read the guide on cleaning the switch and setting it up again :y
What is the best product to clean it out with ?7
Brake cleaner ?
Does anything in there or around there need greasing up ?
If so, what's the best stuff to use ?

A can of switch cleaner from Maplins is cheap, easy to find and intended for just this sort of job.
It's worth scraping the worst of the crud from the outside before splitting the case.
I used a slight smear of lithium grease inside mine as it looked like original and I had some.

I should have some white grease about somewhere
Cheers Nick :)

I would make sure you remove the "O ring" "more like a triangle ring" when you have separated the two halves,
before you you spray the switch cleaner all over. I didn't and it ended up about an inch
bigger. Had to "cut and shut it", to get it back in.

I had the same issue with mine and was advised that if its not set up correctly it can burn out the box?
Only cost about £250 to have a new one supplied and fitted now works a dream.
Fitting instructions on here somewhere or pictures in Haynes manual
Good luck.
