Title: Cylinder misfire advice please
Post by: Banksy on 23 March 2013, 12:13:28
Hi all,

I have a 2003 2.6 CD and the engine warning light came on, so I did the pedal test to get the fault codes.

They said:

P0300 Random/multiple cylinder misfire detected
P0306 Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected

As I know nothing about engines or mechanics in general, please could someone advise me about the actions to take to solve this ?

Thanks in advance

Phil

Check for Oil / Water in the plug wells, then the Plugs themselves to start with.

As said above if water it will be getting in from the windscreen scuttle check if foam is wet. if its oil its going to be cam covers. There is a good guide here to sort it you will more than likely need to change the coil pack but do checks first.
