Title: Foam under scuttle soaked

Just felt the foam under the scuttle and its pretty wet. The container where the pollen filtre sits is dry as I knocked out the drain grommet a couple of years back after it filled up and soaked the carpets. Is there any other drain holes I should be unblocking to stop the foam getting wet or could it be coming in from somewhere else? I also had problems with the windows steaming up unless I put the air conditioning on.

Often happens after the scuttle has been removed..
You need to remove and seal somehow..

Water will drip onto the engine, and fill the spark plug wells.

Can be hard to seal :(

If the windscreen seal is still fixed to the screen and the scuttle clips secure, then main culprits are the hole around the windscreen wiper spindle, and the join in the scuttle itself between the two halfs where they meet the metal section of the pollen filter compartment you mention.

Running a bead of silicon or gutter seal along the top edge of the metal by the join stops the leak, if the poxy draft excluder stuff is removed.


A test with a hose pipe can reveal the leaks. ;)
