Can somebody help with this one please, my friend parked up volvo 240 1993 when trying to re-start engine would not even turn over. Fitted fully charged battery dash lights come on but still no action, is it starter motor or something electrical thanks
-
Is it making a clicking noise if so then if it is a manual put in first gear rock it and see if it frees it up :) make sure the ignition is turned off though :y
-
Thanks for reply Kevin its not even clicking, tried rocking it in gear no response
-
Will it bump/tow start?
-
yes broomie just bumped it in tescos car park and starts what does that put it down to
-
All other (primitive) electrics seem to be ok. Ignition lights reported OK, Car runs ok when force started.
So;
Starter motor/solenoid would be my port of call. Check all connections first. Make sure all are solid and free from corrosion. Then start replacing.

thank you i'll post the result next week when fixed hopefully cheers

Yup sounds like the starter. :y

starters do get stuck on them,but then saying that the ignition barel can cause a fault like that,are there any codes stored on it....n.b it is NOT ob2 compliant... :y
