Title: Will WIM do extra work before alignment?
Post by: GastronomicKleptomaniac on 27 March 2013, 17:23:29
I've been advised on MoT that the subframe bushes are worn, as is the "n/s steering pivot point", which I think he said would be the steering idler. (I was too busy arguing with the young lady I was with, I know, priorities).

If I save the pennies will WIM fit the bushes and arm, then set the chassis up for me?

Probably but I dread to think what they would charge per hour  :'(

Best pop to see one of the mechanics on here or stick a work wanted advert up on the forum  :y

Good point. I'm capable of doing it, I'm just lazy a busy man. Hence I've spent the last half hour looking at fire engines on Ebay...  :D

They will do & have done so for me in the past ...... new shocks & springs all round.

The time charged, in my case anyway, was only for the "extra time" for the car up on the ramp. That was almost 4 years ago now so can't recall what the actual cost was. They then did the alignment afterwards  :y

Their hourly cost is actually not bad, no worse than any other independent garage  :y
