Hi. Following an episode of bad starting from cold, I attempted to change the glow plugs. The front one came out no problem, however the back 3, the 10mm head was just spinning leaving the rest of the glow plug stationary. I snapped the top off one to attempt drilling it out and retapping with a M10x1.0 tap. And soon realised I was going to make a mess of things, so admitted defeat, and intend to remove the head and take it to have them machined out.
I am going to embark on removing the head, Is there anything I should be wary of, timing chains etc.
Thankyou in advance

A quick update. One of the glow plugs started making a pffft pffft pffft pffft noise... so I figured it was time to take the plunge.
Removed the head and had 3 stuck glow plugs "lasered" out by a local engineering firm at a cost of £96, I happened to ask if they had a timing kit for the Y22 DTH engine, he said "You're lucky. We have 2. A one off price £50 because we have a spare one.". I snapped it up. It proved to be a godsend!!!
So, a head gasket, new head bolts and a replacement thermostat housing to replace the plastic fitting I broke whilst dismantling later, and it i purring again...
