Title: Just changed the original aux drive belt at 141k - is this a record?

Intermittant squealing yesterday.On inspection ribs very brittle and changed for new contitech item in 10 mins.

Good going :y

We've seen a few cases where the aux belt fails, and whips behind cambelt cover, taking that out with it, which obviously ends in tears.

I've just changed a cam belt at 220K - the last change having been done at 60K

or to put it another way, that's 160,000 miles on the same cam belt

How did the belt feel? Brittle-ish?

My Omega did 83k on a Cambelt, and 83k on the AUX belt too, very lucky to be honest.

just found that the mv6 last had a belt change at 40k miles, it now on 125k, it going nowhere now till ive got one to go in, gives time to also fit the lpg and rocker gaskets whilst all apart

Write down mileage, so you don't miss next replacement at 242K. ;D

WOW, I'm a fussy 40k belt changer.... Got another 25k to go tho for next one  :y ..... Some miles there on one belt, very risky....

Anyone remember when the belt on the bullet was done? Think it was Newent one year by TonyGnome, but can't remember year. Or mileage ;D

I think its overdue on mileage anyway. Job for the summer ;D

We're thinking it must have been 2009 at the latest so it'll be four years this year at least.

We're thinking it must have been 2009 at the latest so it'll be four years this year at least.
According to my MPG records, its done 30k since 9th November 2010. So if its done 30k in 2.5yrs, I guess its fair to say its "due" ::)
